Mar Theodosius Memorial Medical Mission Hospital is a Charitable Trust Organisation established in 1971 as a Primary Health centre by Kollam Diocese of The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. It was registered under the Travancore – Cochin Literacy, Scientific and Charitable Act with Reg. No. Q 245/83. It is managed by an elected Governing Board and Bishop being the President. In 1980 it was developed as a 50 bedded hospital with 3 specialized doctors. Over the last 51years, it has grown to the status of a Multi Specialty hospital with 155 bedded and most modern facilities with departments of

The hospital is situated in the banks of beautiful Sasthamcotta lake of Kollam District, in Kerala. The hospital extends its medical facilities through community outreach programmes to the people of four districts of Southern Kerala – Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha & Thiruvananthapuram.  This place is easily accessible by road and rail. Karunagappally is 15 k.m., Adoor is 18 k.m., Kottarakkara is 20 k.m. and Kollam is 23 k.m. away from the hospital. The nearest railway stations are Sasthamcotta and Karunagappally. History

Mar Theodosius Memorial Medical MissionHospital wasestablished in the year 1971 as a charitabletrust organization,committed to improving the quality of life of Persons with Disabilities in thebackward areas of Southern Kerala.  We offer world-class health services at a minimal cost. 

In 1983we started an Ophthalmology Department (MTMMM Eye Micro Surgery & ResearchCentre). We have started our outreach programsfor the backward community of Kollam, Pathanamthitta,  Alappuzha, and Thiruvananthapuram Districts. Since then we areworking for improving eye health among the rural andtribal people. Our main focus is eliminating the causes of Avoidable Blindness& increasing the quality of life of people respectively theunderprivileged and The marginalized. Last Tenyears more than 25,000 CataractSurgeries have been done and almost 75% of surgeries were done free of cost. 

In we have started MTMMM School of Nursing with the affiliations of INC & KNC. Every year well qualified 20 nurses is coming out to serve the needy toenjoy theirhuman rights and achieve their full potential. The hospital conducts around500 eye screeningsand medicalcamps for the poor every year. Hospital helps the poorto avail quality treatment through the support of various government and otherschemes.
